Cadillac Repair: cadillac remote door opener, 2003 cadillac cts, cadillac cts

Should I expect to pay $60 for the part and $80 for programing a remote door opener --2003 Cadillac cts--should this be covered under warranty?  thanks

Hi Bob, $60 seem a little high but that might be the going rate. You might be able to get it cheaper if you phone around because any GM dealer should be able to get any GM part and dealers in the 'burbs might charge less than their city counterparts. I would think that half an hour for reprogramming the remotes is resonable and if the remote failed then it should be programmed for free under warrenty provided you are less than 4 years and 50,000 miles. If they won't do it under warrenty then maybe an independant shop knows how and will charge less. If you just needed another remote then you will probably have to pay the going rate.Thats my 2 cents worth. Bill
