Cadillac Repair: Emergency break release, vacuum hose, solinoid

I can't figure out how to turn the emergency break off. And I can't find the manual that came with the car. Please help. Thank you for your time.

Hi Heather, If you ment release the emergency brake then there are 2 ways this happens. When you put the shifter in eithor R or OD a vacuum solinoid on the parking brake pedal pulls on a lever and that releases the it. Check to see if the vacuum hose is still on the valve. Then to manually release the brake take a light and shine it up on the RH side of the pedal and you should see a little curved lever about 3" long that you will pull towards you and that will cause the pedal to come up. If those 2 things don't help then you will need to take it in because the cable could be stuck. Hope that makes sense and helps. Bill
