Cadillac Repair: 92 Seville STS overheating, coolant temperature, radiator fan

Question
(By way of elimination) at what temperature(s) should the radiator fan(s) kick on? Upon slecting the "Information" button on the dash, and then "Coolant Temperature", it's possible to monitor varying temps from the engine, but I've no idea when they should actually come on.
Thank you,
Ken--

Answer
Hi Ken, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you as things have been hectic around here. Here's the skinny on cooling fan operation...The fans are supposed to turn on low speed when the coolant temp reaches 106 degrees C and off @ 98 degrees C. Also the fans will turn on low when the a/c is on and the high side temp excedes 60 degrees C and off below 50 degrees C. Hi fans turn on above 108 degrees C and switch to low fans @ 108 degrees C. The a/c will turn the high speed fans on @70 degrees C or if a failure in the high side temp circuit. Hope that solves the fan speed mysteries. Bill
