Cadillac Repair: 1991 DeVille Auto AC, ac service, computor

I just bought the car in excellent condition with 86,000 miles. All of a sudden the AC service light is on and it won't stay on auto mode. It WAS blowing ice cold air. Any suggestions?

Hi Frank, I would first check the a/c compressor relay under  hood to see if it is functioning ok. Then hook up some gages and see what the pressures are. Caddy has alot of problems with evaporator cores leaking and the body computor will disable the a/c if the pressures are too low and a code will be set. If both of those are ok then you will need to troubleshoot the sensors and wiring. Good luck. Bill
