Cadillac Repair: Motor Mount 1991 Deville, engine oil pan, jackstand

Question
Do you have any good ideas for accessing the front right motor mount to replace it.  The transmission mounts look they are easy to get at.

It almost looks like I will have to either remove the radiator or lift the engine much higher than I had hoped.

Answer
Hi Mark, There are 2 ways to do this. Eithor raise the engine or lower the engine cradle. If you place jackstands behind the transmission on what looks like frame rails, support the engine from above with a support bar or from below with a 2X6 placed under the engine oil pan supported with a jackstand or bottle jack and then lower the RF engine cradle useing a floor jack you can access the mount. There shouldn't be any reason to remove the rad to replace the mount. Hope that helps. Bill
