Cadillac Repair: service ride control lite, hi jack, computor

Bill---I have a 94 Concours---the service ride control lite is on.  Is there anything I can do to keep an outlay of cash to a minimum?  Thank you for your anticipated input.-----Jack

Hi Jack, Usually when you get that light it means that a strut has failed electrically and needs to get replaced. I would recommend that you get an ASE certified tech to diagnos the codes. It may turn out to be a sensor but without checking the codes, clearing them and then diagnos the one that comes back you won't know for sure. Sometimes you can install replacement struts that don't have the electronic valveing and then disable the computor so the light stays off. Replace the bad strut along with the other side and don't worry about the other pair. Bill
