Cadillac Repair: climate control, blower fan, climate control

bill, 87 sedan deville blower fan is on high setting it will go off for few seconds and come back on and continue to do so repeatly is there a sensor or a relay that i can check i have replaced the blower motor .thanks ,dennis

Hi Dennis, There is a thing called a power module that supplies power to the motor. Sounds like it could be weak and is shutting down when alot of amperage is needed. If this only happens on the high speed and none of the others then the module will need to be replaced. It is located in the same housing as the blower motor under hood but on top and to the left. It has 2 wire connectors and is black plastic aprox. 2"x3" in size. Do not run the fan with the module out of the duct because 15 seconds is all it takes and the module will overheat and fail.
