Cadillac Repair: where is the crankshaft position..., crankshaft position sensor, wire colors

where is the crankshaft position sensor B located
on a 2000 deville

Hi Dave, Its located right next to crankshaft position sensor A. LOL. Sorry I couldn't resist. Here's what you do. Raise the car up in front on jack stands or on ramps and slide underneith. You will see the oil filter on the passengers side of the engine next to the radiator. Then look alittle higher and to the right behind the engine mount and you will see the 2 sensors. I don't have a book to check wire colors for the sensors so if you dissconnected one and the engine runs and you disconnect the other and it doesn't after plugging in the first sensor then that is probably sensor A. There was a campaign that the dealer replaced both sensors for free early in 2000. If it hasn't been done yet then have the dealer check and change them both. There isn't a time limit so this should still be a free repair for you. If it has been done already you might want to have them change both sensors anyway because of the location is kind of difficult to get at unless the car is up high enough and you have a 10mm universal socket and extension.
