Cadillac Repair: Air Bag Light, catera cadillac, airbag module

I own a 2000 catera cadillac and the air bag light came on the dase board and will not go out. Is there anything I can do to make the light go out. I have disconnect the battery and that does notwork. I would appreciate help on this matter.

Hi David, The airbag light is comming on because there is a malfunction with the system somewhere that could cause the airbags not to deploy when they are supposed to in the event of an accedent. You could remove the bulb or remove the fuses and then unplug the airbag module but again in the event of a crash you or someone else riding in the car might be seriously hurt because they didn't work. I would highly reccommend that you take your Catera to the dealer or your mechanic and have them scan the code(s) and fix whatever is needed so the light will be off and the system would be ready to work should it be needed.
