Hi... Is replacing a powersteering something a backyard mechanic can do? Also, do i need to replace the reservoir?

Hi Harold, If you mean replace the p/s pump then yes it should be do-able. You will need metric tools as well as a special tool to remove the pulley and that might be able to be rented where you bought the pump or Auto Zone lends/rents tools. It depends you makes the pump because some pumps come with a resivior and some you have to change it over. Get the shop manual for your car and the directions should be easy to follow. Bill
