Cadillac Repair: Mastercylinder, spring clamp, cadillac deville

Question
I own a 1993 Cadillac Deville. 4.9L,4 door, rear wheel drive, vin# 1G6CD53B6P4288432 with ABS breaks. I need to order a remanufactured Master cylinder, however, I do not know which one to order. On the Master Cylinder I removed there are some numbers. Top right hand corner of lable are the numbers 3070. Seconed line are the numbers 10 6125-0140 4. Under the Sku bars are the numbers 2202001400068359. There is a lable in the trunk with about 50 "service replacement" numbers, however, I see nothing with the numbers J44 or J55 which I understand are two options of master cylinders GM uses. The master cylinder I removed has the number 25 casted on the front right side front. The casting also has a stamped 2 followed by a - 20  P    It apears that the cylinder was made by "ATE" as this name appears on the plastic fluid container mounted above the casting. Attached to the bottom right underside is a nipple where a rubber break hose attaches with a spring clamp. On the left side of the casting is a place to "plug in" some electrical plug of some kind. It also contains two places on the casting in which to attach two "lines" which contain master cylinder fluid. From this information I have given, can you determine which Master Cylinder I need to order?

Sincerely,
Dan Brady

Answer
Hi Dan, I don't have access to a parts manual. However I can't see why the parts store or the Caddillac dealer parts dept. couldn't order the correct part from the info given although the engine is probably a 5.0 or 5.7 liter. The numbers that are cast on the mc are just that casting numbers and mean nothing as to a part number. The options label in the trunk is sometimes needed to get the correct parts and might be required to get the correct mc so its a good thing you are aware of it. If one store doesn't know what mc is needed then find a more knowledgeable parts person or store. Sorry I can't be more help. Bill
