Cadillac Repair: Hot Start, cadilac, fuel pressure

Question
I have a 1996 Cadilac SLS w/Northstar. The first start of the day is fine. However after the car is hot it will crank but I have trouble starting it.

Answer
Hi Jay, An engine needs 3 things to run...fuel, spark and compression. Compression shouldn't change but you will need to test and find out what your fuel pressure is and if there is spark when the engine doesn't start. Modules have a tendency to go bad when hot so the ignition coil module might be bad. However you still need to test for spark before replaceing it. Bill
