Bill,   I was aware the had to be disabled, however where is the conputer located and how do you disable it. According to Strutmasters the struts come with instructions to do this, but I like to know as much as possible before I decide to do something. I will in all likelyhood have my automotive shop do the installation for me.  I hate to do away with the OEM struts, but the cost to fix properly is almost as much as I paid the car.  This Eldorado looks like almost new and has a lot more miles left in it.
Thanks again,  Ron Wilson

I recently bought a 1995 Eldorado in excellent body and interior condition looks like new. However the struts bounce and roll excessively. The dealership wanted 4500.00 to replace all four. Another automotive shop I have used for years and years checked them out. Found no RSS codes or any other codes. Weak shocks. At strutmasters.com I found passive struts for all four wheels for about 499.00. I have seen numerous questions about struts. Thought this would be a good option.   Ron

Hi Ron, That would be a good alternative to the high priced electronic struts. You will have to disable the computor for the struts otherwise you will have to keep clearing the strut message that you are getting. So long as you get them in a matched set you should be fine. Be aware that the ride charactoristics might change from what you are used to. Bill

Answer
Hi Ron, Open the trunk and remove the panel at the back that is in front of the rear seat. On the RH side there is a big module and that is the one you need to unplug the 3 connectors with the key off. Leave the module in place and the connectors hanging loose. There might also be a fuse to remove but that is where I would start. Bill
