Cadillac Repair: 2000 Cadillac Deville Dash Curl, cadillac dealer, cadillac deville

I have just bought a 2000 Cadillac Deville via internet.  When it arrived we discovered the dash was curled up on both ends from the sun/heat.  We have been told this is a common problem with Cadillac beginning in the 2000 models that has not been resolved to date.  We were also told to have the dash heated and glued back down.  This will not work because the dash cover is torn on the edges.  Too long, too little, too late.  Is this a common problem with the Cadillac and is there some help I can get from them to fund the cost of replacing the dash?

Hi Catherine, I stopped working at a Cadillac dealer in Nov. '99 and do not know if this is common or not. You could go to the dealer and ask if there is any assistance or warrenty offered. If not then parts stores might have or can order carpetted dash covers that might be an alternative to buying a replacement dash. Otherwise you could try a website called junkyarddog.com and they might be able to locate a good used one. Hope that helps. Bill
