Question
ive been looking  to replace the struts on my car and have found that nobody seems to carry them.I did find lots of components for the strut mount , strut rods , stabilizer etc.. What type of strut is in this vehicle..Any idea where i can buy them at a reasonable price..

Answer
Hi Steve, The reason you can't find struts for your car at a parts store is they are very specialized in that they have valves inside that change the ride from soft to firm by useing electronic solinoids inside of them. Last time I checked they weren't cheap...around $550.00 each at the dealer. I called Auto Zone and they don't have a listing so what you might have to do is get on the internet and try parts searches for AC Delco parts stores or dealers that might give a discount. Last time I heard though Caddy had a kit that eliminated the electronic struts and were replaced by standard struts and the computor was disabled so the light wouldn't turn on. Have you checked the dealer for these parts yet? Otherwise you could get some used ones from the auto recycler/junk yard but there is no gaurentee they would be and good. This is definitely one area of repair that is very expensive and might be a reason to trade the car in. Bill
