Cadillac Repair: climate control, trouble tree, climate control

Question
I have a 89 caddy. Fleetwood brhm. the climate control buttons work when they feel like it. Sometimes the off button does'nt work. sometimes I cant adjust the temp.  Sometimes the fan won't blow. I mostly just leave it on auto. Would going to a junkyard and getting that piece off a like vehicle solve the problem?

Answer
Hi Kevin, There is a good chance that replacing the climate control panel might fix the problem but if the programmer isn't sending the correct voltage then it could be defective. Also in the trouble tree there is a power module that inputs signals and sends voltage. I checked for bulletins and didn't find any. If I were you I would grab a Cadillac shop manual and follow the trouble tree when the car is acting up and then you won't be buying parts you don't need if the head doesn't fix the problem. Bill
