Cadillac Repair: Cruise Control, cadillac fleetwood brougham, 1993 cadillac fleetwood

The cruise control stopped working on my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. Can you tell me what to look for to repair it and what is usually the problem?

Hi Eddie, First make sure the fuse is good and the linkage is connected. The switches wear out and the servos go bad. You need to test for power at the bottom of the steering column where the cruise switch plugs in and for power leaving the switch when the buttons are pushed. If they check out ok then the servo needs to be tested or replaced. The parts can be expensive so make sure you test before replacing and you might get a good price at the junk yard/auto recycler on a take off parts. Bill
