Cadillac Repair: 1994 Cadillac window riser repair, 10mm nuts, cadillac deville

Question
The right front window on my 1994 Cadillac Deville only raises part way then stops.  I think a tooth in the riser sprocket is broken and I need to replace that part.

Question:  How do I remove the inside door panel to get to the window riser mechanism on my 1994 Cadillac Deville?

Answer
Hi Jack, You will need to take a small flat blade screwdriver and push it in at the front edge of the window switch panel to release a spring clip and then lift up at the same time. Remove the wire connections and the panel. Then try to carefully remove the inside door handle covers and then the 2 screws. If they break they can be glued on or ordered from Cadillac. Remove the wire connections and the panel. Gently pull inboard to disengage the trim fastener retaining outside rearview mirror trim cover. Door trim panel by lifting up and out to disengage the hooks from the door. DO NOT use a tool to pry the panel off like in years past or big bucks will be needed to repair the panel. Remove electrical connectors. Then the motor should be in the open and by removeing 3 10mm nuts and prying underneith with a screwdriver the motor will come off. Hope that helps. Bill
