Cadillac Repair: code po85, diagnostic mode, climate control

i have a 95 eldorado and i just changed the isc and i have a code po85 how do i repair it and also how do i clear the code.....thanks....steve

Hi Steve, The PO85 means that the throttle is open too far at idle. It could be that carbon needs to be cleaned away from the thottle plate and bore, you need to adjust the isc motor or the tps, min air, and idle learn procedures need to be done. To describe the procedures would be lengthly and complicated. It would be best if you got a shop manual and followed the procedures or subscribed to all data online. As for clearing the codes goes with the key on or engine running push off and warmer on the climate control panel until it goes into diagnostic mode. Then when it displays PCM? push the hi fan button. Continue to push low fan until it shows clear codes...then push hi fan and the code will be erased. Then turn off the key. Maybe changing the isc motor and clearing the code will be all that is necessary and the code and light will be gone. Hope that helps. Bill
