Hi, Without knowing what year or model caddy you have I can only generalize and say that the programmer motor gears could be stripped out in one place or the inside temp sensor isn't getting the correct reading to the programmer or it is defective. If you are getting good airflow from the vents and the speed changes  irregardless of the temperature of the air comming out then the motor is good. If you give more info I can be more specific. Bill

Okay its a 91 cadillac Deville, the air flow is good, when its on high cold whic is 60 degrees the a/c blows cold, see but the a/c will contunie to blow cold until the temperature is set to 90 degrees then it blows high heat good, but my problem is i cant get anything in between instead of having climate control i only have high heat and high cold, is i set the tempreature at 75 or 80 degrees for example my a/c will still be blowing on high same as 60
thanks

Answer
Hi, I was thinking it might be a Deville. If nothing has been worked on with the hvac system then you will need to remove the glovebox and set the temp to 60 and wait for the arm to move all the way to cold. Then litely grasp the rod and set it to 90 allowing it to move through your fingers with some resistance. If you feel the rod stop moving somewhere in the middle of its travel then the programmer motor is bad. If it moves smoothly several times from hot to cold to hot then make sure the 1/2" corregated plastic hose is connected between the programmer and the inside temp sensor which is behind the Cadillac script above the glovebox. If it is then the inside temp sensor could be causing your problem. Hope that helps. Bill
