Cadillac Repair: abs light, cadillac sedan deville, autohelp

Question
I have a 1995 Cadillac Sedan Deville with 140,000 miles. It has never gave me any problems what so ever. Recently I changed the rear brake pads and after reinstalling the wheels and taking it for a test drive I notice the ABS light was on and that the information center was flashing "traction disabled" I also noticed that when I come to a stop that it seemed like the transmission is down shifting into first gear right before the car stops, causing a bumping feel. When driving at slow speeds, like in a parking lot it sometimes feels like it is changing gears back and forth when it should just be in first gear, but out on the road it drives like a new car. Could you  please tell me if there is any connection between me changing the brake pads, and the ABS light coming on and could there be any connection between the ABS light and the transmission problems and the traction disable warning. I would greatly appreciate any information or help you can give me on this problem.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Brent Ezzell

Answer
Go back to the wheels where you replaced the pads and make sure that the sensors are still mounted in the small brackets as they have a tendency to fall out of the bracket and or you disturbrd their positioning. Compare to the other sensors where you DID not do any work.

You may also want to disconnect the vehicles battery for 15 seconds, Reconnect it and drive the vehicle for several miles to see if the system will RESET by itself.

I wiil be unavailable from Tuesday thru thursday as I am leaving our home in PA to go out to our home in NM and will be back on-line Friday.
