Chevrolet Repair: Ignition Switch, security light, turning the key

Question
Hi Tom

I just asked a question about an intermittent no start on a 95 Grand Am

If it is an Ignition switch fault, whats the procedure for replacement.
Does anything need to be programmed afterwards?

It doesnt have any security light on the dash.

thanks

Joe

Answer
HI AGAIN JOE, NO, NOTHING WILL NEED TO BE FLASHED OR RELEARNED ON THIS YEAR CAR..DO YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO CHANGE IT IF NEED BE...IF THIS IS THE CASE I WOULD SUGGEST YOU LOOK THIS PART UP ON GOOGLE..THIS WAY YOU WILL SEE IT AS WELL AS READ ABOUT IT..IT IS NOT HARD, JUST TAKES SOME STEPS TO DO.. THIS WOULD TAKE ME SOME WRITING TO TELL YOU...BUT BEFORE YOU DO THIS JUST CK FOR POWER COMING OUT OF THIS SWITCH WHEN TURNING THE KEY,[WHEN THIS HAPPENS] IF GOOD, I SUSPECT THE ALARM MODULE..
