Chevrolet Repair: 1992 cadillac deville codes, vacuum leaks, servo conrol

Question
QUESTION: I am not sure how much you know about cadillac. But I will ask you anyways because I like your opinion the best. I pulled the codes off my 1992 Cadillac Deville. The codes were E61,E62, and E65. What do these mean and how do I fix it. Thanks.

ANSWER: HI SEAN,HOW MANY CARS DO YOU OWN ???? PRE OBD11 WOW..I JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE A OLD SHOP MANUAL AT MY HOUSE.. I LOOKED UP THESE CODES FOR YOU,E61=CRUISE VENT SOLENOID FAULT. E62= CRUISE VACUUM SOLENOID FAULT. E65= CRUISE SERVO POSITION SIGNAL FAULT.. I WILL ASSUME YOUR CRUISE DOES NOT WORK OR IS ERRATIC BY THESE CODES. AS FAR AS HOW TO FIX THIS I WOULD BE LOOKING AT THE SERVO [CONROL FOR THE CRUISE. MAKE SURE THERE IS VACUUM TO THIS SERVO,NO VACUUM LEAKS AT THE SERVO AND THE MAIN VACUUM SOURCE FOR IT..MAKE SURE ALL THE FUSES ARE OK FOR IT AS WELL. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 12 VOLTS TO IT AND GROUND. THE E65 THROWS ME A CURVE, POSSBILBE FAULT AT THE CRUISE STALK BUTTOM LEFT OF STEERING COLUMN, I HAVE SEEN MANY WIRES BREAK AT THIS AREA.. IT IS THE WEAK LINK.. SERVO'S GO BAD AS WELL. WHAT I NEED OR YOU NEED IS A FLOW CHART TO CK THIS CORRECTLY..I HOPE THIS GETS YOU STARTED...LET ME KNOW TOM..

QUESTION: Hi we have 5 cars. We have a 1969 fiat spider. A 1992 Cadillac Deville. A 1993Chevy Silverado 4x4. A 1998 Z28 Chevy Camaro and a 2006 Chevy SSR. We have had a problem with the cruise control for over 5 years. The cruise control that is suppose to light up does not. The cruise control will not set either. I checked the vacuum and the system has a vacuum. I have tried to diagnose this I have tried everything. I finally gave up on it a few months ago and these codes never came up. This is new. Sears told me they would look at it complimentary and if they can do it it will be 50 bucks which is a fair price. I have also put a new servo in a while back ago and it didn't do any difference. The last thing I did was pulled the vacuum switch off the brake pedal and pushed it back in so you couldn't blow through it. Before I took the switch off you could blow straight through it. Thanks for the help. If you have any suggestions please tell me. I have tried everything. I checked the fuse I checked the voltage. Everything checks out fine. So I am lost on what to do.

Answer
HI SEAN,,LOTS OF CARS !!! WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO GET IS A FLOW CHART IN A MANUAL, THIS WILL TELL WHAT TO DO STEP BY STEP..YOU HAVE LOOKED INTO ALL THE USUAL ITEMS AND ALL APPEARS OK..I THINK IF YOU GOOGLE THIS UP YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOCATE A FLOW CHART. I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU HAVE EVER WORKED WITH ONE BUT IT MAKE THINGS EASY..IT WILL START OUT::: CK FOR POWER HERE,IF THIS HAS POWER THEN CK THIS AND SO ON...I WOULD NEED TO DO THE SAME THING IF I WERE WORKNG ON THIS..ONE LAST THING,DID YOU CK THE CRUISE BUTTON ON THE COLUMN FOR THE WIRES THAT BREAK.. SOMETIMES YOU CAN JUST LOOK IN THE COLUMN WHRE THE CRUISE BOTTON IS AND SEE THE WIRE OR WIRES THAT ARE BROKEN..THIS IS WHAT SENDS THE SIGNAL TO THE SERVO...,TOM.
