Chevrolet Repair: 1998 Chevy Camaro, chevy camaro, second degree burn

Question
QUESTION: Hi it's me again. I was changing my moms oil in her 1998 z28 Chevy Camaro this weekend. I burned my arm on her exhaust and got a second degree burn. But anyways as the oil was draining out I noticed that there was a lot of oil sitting on her exhaust. It was only a few feet away from the headers. It was on the passenger side. The exhaust was covered with oil. When all the oil was finally drained it only had maybe 3 quarts of oil or less that came out. I put the new oil and filter in. I also put zmax in the oil because I bought it awhile back and needed to get rid of it. Any idea of where the oil is coming from on the exhaust. As I told you earlier their is oil on the valve cover towards the back. It is wet on the cover back their. If the valve cover is what is leaking could that cause the oil that is down on the exhaust. Thanks.

ANSWER: HI SEAN,,TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION IS YES OF COURSE. YOU SEE THE VALVE COVER LEAK ON THE BACK SIDE WILL LEAK OUT AND FOLLOW THE EASY PATH DOWNWARD AND THEN DRIP ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING THIS OIL STAIN AND SMELL LIKE BURNING OIL AS [YOU ASKED ABOUT BEFORE]THIS IS VERY COMMON. [ WHEN OIL HITS THE HOT POT IT BURNS AND SMELLS]..  SO FIX THIS LEAK ON THE VALVE COVER AND THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEMS. SORRY ABOUT YOUR BURN.. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU,,,TOM...
