Chevrolet Repair: 1995 chevy 1500 4x4 ac, 1995 chevy 1500, ac compressor

I had a new ac compressor put on my truck 2 years ago it started to leak on back of the compressor where the hose connects so i am going to replace the hose wail i have it off. can i replace the hose and recharge it my self with out any problems          thanks Brian

HI BRIAN,YES YOU CAN RECHARGE IT YOURSELF, BUT IT IS BETTER TO VACUUM THE SYSTEM OUT BEFORE PUTTING FRESH CHARGE BACK INTO IT. WILL WORK OK,  JUST NOT THE CORRECT WAY OF DOING IT.  MAKE SURE IT IS THE HOSES THAT ARE LEAKING AND NOT JUST THE SEALS ON THE BACK SIDE OF COMPRESSOR WHERE THE LINES ATTATCH...HOPE THIS HELPS YOU,,TOM.
