Chevrolet Repair: Chevy Cruze, chevrolet cruze, corrola

Question
Hello Tom, I am in the market searching for a new car to buy, and my eye caught on the Chevrolet Cruze. I asked my mechanic if these are reliable vehicles and he said they are not really tested and trusted as much as maybe a Civic or a Corrola. I like the Cruze, but if this vehicle will not be reliable in the next 10 years, then I must look to another type of vehicle. So what is your opinion on the Cruze from a mechanics perspective? Thank you, sincerely Jared C.

Answer
HI JARED, SO FAR WE HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THEM, BUT THEY ARE ALSO NEWER TO THE MARKET. THE ECO TECH ENGINE HAS BEEN VERY RELIABLE..AS FAR AS OTHER PARTS OF THE CARS MECHANICS I REALLY DO NOT SEE A ISSUE WITH THEM,OTHER THEN MINOR PROBLEMS..BUT YOU WILL GET THIS ON ANY CAR HONDA AND TOYOTA AND SO ON..IF THE PRICE IS FAIR I THINK YOU ARE OK. REMEMBER CHANGE THE OIL AT 3 K AND NOT 6 K MILES LIKE THEY SAY..CHEVY DID HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH THERE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTORS,BUT THEY HAVE CORRECTED THIS..IF IT WERE ME I WOULD GET THE CHEVY. BUT IAM CHEVY FROM HEAD TO TOE.. SO MAYBE IAM NOT A GOOD PERSON TO ASK THIS QUESTION..I HOPE WHAT EVER CAR YOU GET YOU ARE HAPPY WITH IT,,,, TOM...
