Chevrolet Repair: Diodes to bring down voltage for inverter., fleet truck, usable level

Question

Inverter installation   Hello Mr. Sheets,

In regards to your answer about dropping voltage down to a usable level for inverters, what kind of package would you put those diodes into to make a reliable piece in an industrial setting? I have an '08 silverado 1500 w/ 4.8L fleet truck. The inverter is mounted in the side bin of my utility topper. The inverter is fed from the battery direct by #AWG weld cables. My boss was thinking that it could have a housing that could be bolted to the wall of the bin where our quick connects are mounted. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

HI CHRISTOPHER, YOU MUST BE MISTAKEN ME FOR SOMEONE ELSE,I DID NOT ANSWER THIS BEFORE.BUT I WILL ANSWER THIS QUESTION IF YOU CAN GIVE MORE,, LOTS MORE INFO ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING, FIRST OFF DIODES WILL NOT DROP VOLTAGE DOWN ON DC VOLTAGE, THEY WILL CHANGE A/C TO DC CURRENT. AND AS FAR AS THE CABLE SIZE WHAT GAUGE, AND HOW LONG OF CABLE ARE YOU RUNNING ?? HOW MANY OUTPUT OR INPUT WATTS OR AMPS ARE WE WORKING WITH..AND WHAT ARE WE RUNNING WITH THIS OR WHAT LOAD..GET BACK TO ME IF YOU WANT AND I WILL TRY TO ANSWER THIS, IF I CANT I KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN.
