Chevrolet Repair: Brakes, chevy silverado, pep boys

Question
I got my front brakes and rotors changed at pep boys and after a month they started grinding. I took my truck back and they said they upgraded my pad and they had put the wrong size rotors on. They are still grinding after I got the truck and they want me to come in and see if there is something else wrong.  Can putting the wrong size rotors cause other problems?  My truck is a Chevy silverado 1500 2006

Answer
HI GARY,PUTTING THE WRONG SIZE ROTORS ON WILL NOT CAUSE THEM TO GRIND IN 1 MONTH. THIS CAN CAUSE ROTROS TO OVER HEAT BECAUSE THEY ARE SMALLER THEN THE OEM ROTORS. BUT NOT GRIND. EITHER THE PADS ARE INSTALLED WRONG OR THE ROTOR BACKING PLATES ARE HITTING ON THE INSIDE OF ROTOR, VERY COMMON. THE OTHER CAUSE COULD BE A ANTI RATTLE CLIP HITTING ON THE ROTOR EDGE..IF HOWEVER THE PAD OR PADS ARE WORN OUT,SOMETHING IS LOCKING UP,LIKE ABS UNIT OR CALIPER. IF THE TRUCK ROLLS WITH NO RESITANCE SUCH AS PUTTING IN NEUTRAL AND SEE IF TRUCK ROLLS FREELY DOWN A SLIGHT INCLINE THEN WE CAN RULE THIS OUT. ASK TO SEE THE PADS...THE RED FLAGS GO UP WHEN I HEAR [PEP BOYS] I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW MANY CARS WE FIX THAT HAVE GONE TO THESE CHAIN STORES. IF YOU NEED MORE INFO PLEASE GET BACK TO ME..
