Chevrolet Repair: 92 Chevy 1500 5.7L V8, chevy 1500, combustion chamber

Truck just died on me. It will turn over but not start. Replaced the dristributor cap and rotor, fuel relay, full battery. Coil is good. Just replaced the control module and it wants to start but just backfires. What else could it be

HI MICHAEL,IF THE ENGINE IS BACKFIRING THROUGH THE EXHUAST,THIS USUALLY MEANS FLOODED CONDITION OR IGNITION WIRES ARE NOT CORRRECT ON THE DIS-CAP,ROTOR IS NOT ON CORRECT OR NOT SITTING ON THE SHAFT CORRECT???THE POINT THAT IT IS BACKFIRING WE KNOW IT IS GETTING FUEL AND SPARK,THIS IS GOOD. WOULD SUGGEST REMOVING THE SPARK PLUGS AND REMOVE THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND CRANK THE ENGINE OVER FOR 25 TO 30 SECONDS.THIS WILL REMOVE ANY BUILD UP OF FUEL IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. NEXT CK THE OIL AND MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT A LOT OF GAS IN THE OIL FROM CRANKING IT OVER WITHOUT STARTING.[[SMELL THE DIPSTICK]FEEL THE OIL WITH YOUR FINGERS YOU WILL KNOW IF THERE IS ALOT OF GAS IN THE OIL.IF THERE IS CHANGE THE OIL,PUT THE PLUGS BACK IF THEY ARE CLEAN, INSTALL THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND SEE IF IT STARTS..THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM IS USUALLY A IN-CORRECT FIRING PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION..GET BACK TO ME ON THIS IF THIS DOES NOT HELP.
