QuestionQUESTION: My Chevy Cavalier 2003 had a problem, if I started the engine and accidentally push the acceleration pedal it does not start/on although I tried it many times. I need to leave it about 20-35 minutes and start over and immediately on. Do you know what wrong? Would you give me some idea how to fix it? Thank you.
ANSWER: we need a little more information. Is the check engine light on ?
If it is we need the code. check with the auto parts stores in your
area many of them will read the codes for free.
I have not heard of this problem in relation to pushing the gas pedal
before. although this car has several known problems.
passlock (security system)
plugged strainer in fuel pump not allowing eneough fuel pressure for a start.
or the fuel pump itself.

QUESTION: The check engine light is not on.
Yes, I think the light of passlock/security/thieves code some times on; and after shut off the engine and start it off again.
It happen maybe once every 2-3 weeks.
You are right it does not need fuel pressure for start, but sometimes accidentally we push the acceleration.
Do you think it can be fixed? And how??? Please advise and thank you so much,
AnswerI hate to say it , but without the right equipment you dont stand much chance of solving this
take the vehicle to a reputable repair shop , someone with a tech II scan tool and ase cerified
mechanics. The tech II is the gm factory scan tool and IF the problem is the body control module
it is needed to initiate the new one.
One othe question though, is anything else not working ? electric door locks etc
