Chevrolet Repair: 2003 Chevy Suburban Z71 A/C problem, suburban z71, 2003 chevy suburban

Question
The tension pulley on the Compressor squeals when I rev the engine. Does not do it all the time. Also when you just run the front A/C it does not blow as cold air as when I run the front and the back together. The rear air blows colder air. This started with the tensioner squealing and breaking the belt. Replaced belt and tensioner but tensioner still squealed. A/C was over charged, so took out some refrigerant and it appeared to fix, but now it is doing what I explained above. It does blow some cold air when the unit is on max front and back.

Answer
Hi Jeff... if the tensioner squeals then it is not tensioned enough...did you replace the pully or the whole unit, you may have a weak spring in the unit.... some times a good belt dressing will stop that squeal....as far as the air cond goes... when was the last time you changed the cabin air filter. if plugged it will restrict the air flow to the heater/air cond. control box... try changing that first... if that doesn't help the only other thing that comes to mind is that you have an air lock in the system...or a restriction somewhere...make sure the air boxes are clear and contain no debris... like a mouse moving in and making a nest...hope this helps
