Chevrolet Repair: !981 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wont start?, chevrolet caprice classic, chevy caprice

Question
hello,I have a 1981 chevy caprice with a 350 motor in it, the problem is it wont start...every time i try to start it it makes this clicking noise,i had  recently lost my keys and had new ones made and to do that they had to take off part of the steering wheel could that be causing the problem...someone told me that is most likely the starter or the ignition switch...any help you can offer will be greatly apprreciated.

Answer
If you get a clicking in the steering wheel, then yes you have something misaligned in the column.  If you are getting a clicking sound at the starter, under the hood, it most likely is the starter solenoid which can only be replaced by changing the entire starter.
