Chevrolet Repair: 96 vette, fly wheel, clunk

Question
hey bro, i got a 96 vette with a pro charger supercharger and intercooler on it. it has been dyno tuned and etc. I was heading home one day and it seemed like it was outa fuel or wasnt gettin air. i pulled over and tried to start, it just cranked did not turnover. i smelled alot of fuel though. after i towed it home i put the obd2 cpu on it and and the only code was bank 2 sensor 2. so i replaced that (like that was gonna do anything) and tried to start it again. it just cranks but doesnt turn over, after about the third try i hear a loud "clunk" from the back of the motor or fly wheel or something. idk? thanks if u can help.

Answer
Hi Janssen.... sounds like you may have hydrolocked the engine....it's loaded up with fuel and will lock up causing that noise... try disconecting the fuel or pull fuse for pump. do you have spark...if you do try cranking with fuel shut off. you could also pull plugs and clean them of raw fuel and turn engine over with them out to clear it...check fuel pressure. if you have correct pressure and spark it should start after you clear the flood... hope this helps
