Chevrolet Repair: 96 cavalier 2.2 liter missing after it gets warm, torque converter clutch, chevy cavalier

Question
Hi, I have a 96 chevy cavalier that starts missing real bad after I drive it about 15 to 20 miles. Sometimes it will stall completely. It will restart, but will stall out again as soon as it is put in gear. After about half an hour it will run again until it warms back up. I have disconnected the torque converter clutch sensor, installed a new crank sensor, new coils and module, new feul filter and regulator, new plugs and plug wires, and cat. converter, and a new transmission. This car is eating me up. I hate to get rid of it after putting this much money in it, but if I can't fix it soon I will have no other option. Can you help. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jeff... check fuel pressure before you start car... drive till it quits and check pressure again...if it is not good you have an overheating fuel pump. also check fuel return and make sure it is not plugged causing pressure build up making pump shut down...try removing fuel cap so tank can't build pressure shutting down pump...if all this is ok after checking go back to your ign module and coils and see if they are overheating... just because they are new doesn't mean you might not have got a bad one...sometimes because we replace parts we assume they are ok and tend to forget about them...hope this helps
