Chevrolet Repair: 1995 camaro 3.4 litre - idle adjustment, nitrogen emissions, oxides of nitrogen

Question
QUESTION: i JUST REPLACED THE pcv VALVE & IDLE POSITIONING SENSOR. NOW ITS IDLING AT ABOUT 1400RPM. IS THERE AN IDLE ADJUST SCREW? DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY REPLACING THE ABOVE WOULD CAUSE THIS. PLEASE HELP.

ANSWER: Hey,

There is no idle adjustment but if the oring is missing off of the new IAC the vacuum leak will cause it to idle high. You might need to relearn the idle by leaving it in gear for a couple fo minutes iwth the emergency brake on and the wheels blocked.  The computer completely controls idle on that vehicle.

QUESTION: O ring is fine. I did the "re-learn" on idle & seemed to have fixed the fast idle..thank you. However, it still will sometimes (not always)bog down while in drive with brake on,waiting at stop light or waiting to pull out etc.(have to put it in nuetral to get it to smooth out, this is why I replaced the TPS to begin with, hoping that would fix it.) Would the idle speed motor possible need replaced? Any ideas or suggestions? -Tony

ANSWER: Hi,

Disconnect the egr valve and drive it.

GM Digital EGR
Hey,

The EGR valve is on the intake manifold and is responsible for diverting exhaust gases back through the intake to densify the air flow mixture lowering combustion temperature and reducing Oxides of Nitrogen emissions.  It will not hurt anything but the environment and can be unplugged for test purposes.
Here is a pic of the base of a DIGITAl EGR valve.  Yours is similar in design.
