Chevrolet Repair: 1988 Chevy S10 4x4 Pickup, chevy s10, vacuum leaks

1988 Chevy S10 4x4 pickup truck 2.8 liter, 6 cyl.

I just had my transmission rebuilt, but now my truck idles at a very high  rate
when stopped. At a stop sign or light the truck is in drive, I have my foot on
the brake and the truck wants to go. When I accelerate and let go of the gas,
the truck continues traveling at a consistent speed. It does not slow down
when I let the gas up. The accelerator is not stuck, I checked that. I also
checked the hoses and all seem to be fine. Can you help me out?

Hey,

 Make sure the throttle cable is affixed properly, check for vacuum leaks and make sure the IAC valve is plugged in.  You need to take that thing back and tell them whats wrong.  they will probably be glad to look at it again if you feel its related.
