Chevrolet Repair: Locked up, chevy silverado truck, chevy silverado

my husband's 2000 Chevy Silverado truck is sitting at work because he couldn't get the key to turn in the ignition.  I have had this problem before with other vehicles when they were parked on an incline. But he says that it is sitting on level ground. We will go over and look at it later today, any suggestions that we could try before we have to tow it to a repair shop?

Hey,

 It could be a defective lock cylinder. Try squirting some wd40 into it and pumping the key in and out to loosen up a tumbler that might be sticking.  Worn out tumblers will lift if you wiggle up and down on the key.  Try the other key if possilbe
