Chevrolet Repair: 98 Cavalier wont start, negative cable, door switch

Question
Has new battery, alternator, replaced negative cable to battery, but fails to maintain charge and will not start after sitting for a couple hours. Has been to the shop several times but after a couple days this problem continues, Jumping it with cables works as the car starts right away, what could be the problem?

Answer
HEy,

It needs to be checked for parasitic draws with a low amp probe.  Any draw over 250 milliamp s is too excessive for a cold soak and will start to discharge the battery.  Also, remove the courtesy fuse for the interior lights and try it.  A door switch that is causing the interior lights to come on can kill a weak battery but your draw sounds pretty major.  It shouldn't be hard to find.
