Chevrolet Repair: FUEL INJECTION, chevy 4x4, gas injectors

I HAVE A 97 CHEVY 4X4 Z71 350 VORTEX ,5.7 ENGINE. IT GETS FUEL UP TO THE PLENTIUM AN RETURNS TO THE TANK. TRUCK WILL RUN ONLY IF ITS PRIMED FOR ONLY SECONDS. THE TRUCK WAS RUN OUT OF GAS. INJECTORS DO NOT SPRAY . LOST SIGNAL???

Sorry for the delay my dad had a bypass surgery on Tuesday and I am just getting to these messages now.

 You need to check fuel pressure.  IT needs to be 55psi and no less.  YOu may be seeing fuel volumn but if the pump cannot create at least 55 psi the poppet style injectors won't open.
