Chevrolet Repair: intermittent charging, fuse block, alternator

Question
1988 C1500 with a/c Charges most of the time, when it quits it always comes back, sooner or later. Is the exiter wire feed through the gauge? How about the output, does it feed into the fuse block? Thanks

Hey,  The output wire goes right to the battery.  If you have an intermittent charging cycle it might just be the alternator.  The circuit is very simple and internally regulated.

Thanks for the low knowledge rating.  I guess it was about as good as I could come up with your 'exiter' (exciter?) wire feed question.  I guess I should have answered 'you have no idea what you are doing, leave it alone'
