Chevrolet Repair: carborator deceiling, air fuel mixture, throttle plate

l985 chevrolet 454 in a motorhome.  motor desiling afer motor is turned off.  How do I correct?

Hey,

Make sure ignition timing is ok and make sure that the throttle plate is coming all the way back to base.  Dieseling can also be caused by a hot piece of carbon on the top of a piston igniting the air fuel mixture.  Those typically get sticky throttle plates.  Does it stop if you go wide open throttle?
