Chevrolet Repair: MAP sensor high input, vacuum source, monte carlo ls

Question
i have a 2002 monte carlo LS 3.4L, my "check engine" light came on about a month ago indicating my MAP sensor had a high input. i replaced the MAP sensor had the engine light cleared. so when i went to start my car it wouldn't. i sat there for about 10 minutes try to start the car again and it started but the check engine light cam right back on. so i continued driving, i say about a week later i was driving the car it may have been running for 45 minutes to a hour. i turned off the car went the sotre to make a purchase came back out and the car wouldn't start. it now does this often. engine light still says MAP sensor high input.ANY ADVICE??

Answer
Hey,

Have you checked the vacuum source to the MAP sensor?  A MAP sensor that reads 4-4.8v while an engine rpm is received by the pcm knowing that the throttle is closed will set this code.  If you have a good vacuum source, and a good reference at the sensor you need to pull the computer and check the voltage to the pcm to make sure there isn't excessive resistance in teh map signal wire.
