Chevrolet Repair: window will not roll up on passenger side, chevy k2500, motor windings

Question
i have a chevy k2500 2001 and the passenger side window will not roll up and seems like it is stuck. but when i chekced voltages to the motor it was 12.5 volts and when i chekced the voltages thru the motor is was .5 ohms. can you tell me whats wrong?

Answer
You want to check the voltages with the motor plugged in.  Put your meter on the DC scale and put the positive on one wire of the motor and the negative on the other.  Used the switch up and down and watch the voltage.  If the voltage says 12.6 one way and -12.6 the other and the motor does not move its either the motor windings, brush or something is binding inside the door.  If you hit the switch and either direction goes to 0v you have a wiring or switch problem.
