Chevrolet Repair: intermitten starts, lock cylinder, body control module

Question
On a daily basis I will try to start my 2003 monte carlo and it won't start. I hold the key it the start position for a few minutes and then it will start. Battery is new. Is this a body control module problem?

Answer
Could be the lock cylinder assembly.  If it has a security issue the comptuer will not allow the starter to engage.
Have the comptuer scanned for codes with a dealer scanner.  BCM codes will come up with an invalid key code in history if the lock cylinder is bad.
