Chevrolet Repair: car sliding, 2007 chevy impala, chevy impala

Question
I have a 2007 chevy impala 3.9 engine i purchased two ago and the snow and slush i can`t drive over 5 or 10 mph other wise it will start sliding and swaying and the service tire monitor warning comes on it has 33,000 and when it`s dry it drives fine.

Answer
Hey Tyronne,

I hate to tell you this but there is a very good possibility that your tires are already worn out.  Original Equipment tires on new impala's rarely last more than 35-40k.  Have someone check the tread depth or do it yourself.  Look for lateral tread wear indicator bars that should not be flush with the tread.  When they are less than 2/32' of an inch they are no longer effective in the snow.  Is there any possibility that the traction light is coming on and not the low tire light?
