Chevrolet Repair: 1998 Silveradoo door opening, door latch, wd 40

My driver side door will not open from the inside, but does from the outside.  How do I fix this?

Could have a broken rod, or plastic rod holder.

If everything is hooked up correctly and this happens, then the lock/latch mechanism is probably rusty.  

Hit it hard with WD-40 and operate over and over.  If that doesn't work, then disconnect the door latch from the door and soak it.  

Operate it on the bench before reinstall.  If still not working, get one from a scrap yard.
