Chevrolet Repair: 1998 gmc sierra, gmc sierra, fuel filter

I have a 1998 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 with a 5.7.It is very hard to start after sitting. It also feels like it is missing after about 3500rpm. Once it is started it runs fine until you get on it.

unsure of when the last tune up is I will assume that is OK.  So my first, out of the gate, best advice is you either have bad gas or a bad fuel filter.  

All systems are ok if you can get to 3500 before a problem with performance.  The hard start, the missing feeling after higher RPM's all lead to fuel issues.  

Cheap and easy fix.  Let me know if that didn't get it.
