Chevrolet Repair: door locks, chevy suburban, window slides

Question
My door lock on the inside driver side will not unlock, even if I try to unlock it from the outside.I have to get in and out of the car by climbing into the passenger side. My vehicle is a 99 chevy suburban, I wanted to see if there was a way that I could try fixing it before I take it to a dealership.

Answer
Hi Tawanda,
If you can hear it click, and the lock lever move a little bit, then I would get a can of WD-40, stick the little plastic tube on the can, and poke that tube into the latch mechanism, through the opening where the window slides, and through any other opening near the door latch, and thoroughly hose the latch area down with it, working the lock button while doing that.
I have had great results with that.
If there is no noise at all from the door, then removing the inner door panel may be needed.
