Chevrolet Repair: 1990 Chevy 1500 Transmission Fluid Leak, 1990 chevy 1500, torque converter

Question
I have a 350 5.7 automatic transmission. When the engine is running there is a very fast leak that appears to be coming from the torque converter (I think...it is right in front of the transmission pan up in the area between the tranny and converter). Is there a gasket or "O" ring that could be broke or is this more serious? Thanks

Answer
Hi Bryan,
Up in behind the torque converter there is a gasket, an "O"ring, and a seal.
The seal is the most likely culprit, but any of them require removing the tranny and torque converter.
None are especially hard to replace, and for the seal to go out is not uncommon after several years.
