Chevrolet Repair: GMC Sierra k-1500 a/c problem, gmc sierra, gmc 1500

Question
Hey, I have a 1995 GMC 1500 Sierra.  I recently had my A/C charged and ever since it was charged when the a/c is on, it will only blow from the floor vents and defrost. However, i haven't used the a/c for probably 2 years so it may have been like this for a long time. When just the fan is on without a/c the front vents blow as well.  I have read several places that the problem is somewhere under the glove box.  What do you think?  If you agree, do you know how to remove the portion of the dash that needs to be removed to see the problem.  I have already pulled the a/c controls out and taken the cover of the coils under the glove box off, but i still can't get to what i need.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Patrrick,

Is the problem behind the glove box door?  Or some other peice of the dash.  If the door is in the way, You can usually bend it all the way down by opening it, then pressing the sides inward enough to get the stops to clear the dash assembly.  IF still not enough, then unscrew the hinge of the glove box and take it out of the way.

If the dash is the problem, you may have to work around it.  You can remove the dash, but it is big job.
